President of the British American Business Council Charlotte (BABC Charlotte), Mr. Jeff Hay of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice LLP, announced today that SAS Institute and BAE Systems, Inc. will be the recipients of the prestigious 2014 British Consul General Awards. The Awards, presented annually, celebrate businesses that exemplify the primary mission of the BABC Charlotte, which is the promotion of bilateral trade and investment between the United Kingdom and the Carolinas. The Awards will be presented at a black tie dinner on April 9th at The Ritz-Carlton. "The Consul General Awards Dinner is the highlight of the BABC calendar," said President Hay "and we are honored to recognize two of our region's pre-eminent business leaders for their contributions to the growth of the economic ties between the Carolinas and the United Kingdom. Her Majesty's Consul General Jeremy Pilmore-Bedford will present the Awards to the recipients personally at the April 9th dinner".

SAS Institute will receive the Award for a United States company investing and doing business in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Jim Goodnight, Chief Executive Officer, will accept the award on behalf of SAS Institute. Since co-founding SAS in 1976, Jim Goodnight has served as the company's Chief Executive Officer.
