WFT Incorporated
WFT was founded in the Spring of 1993 by Peter Willis Fleming and Christopher Needham.
Peter began his career at C.E. Health in 1977, nearly 30 years ago having been raised in the insurance business by his family. He worked for C.E. Health and Lowndes Group for more than 10 years under the leadership of his uncle, the Chief Executive Officer of Lowndes Lambert Group, Richard Shaw. This period accumulated in Peter specializing in the Marine, Energy and Construction areas of the market.
In 1989, Peter joined Hinton Hill Marine and Energy becoming Managing Director within eighteen months, focusing on the Gulf Supply Industry and Offshore Energy Contractors. Hinton Hill was in time taken over by S.B.J. Group, where Peter was appointed managing Director of the Marine Company.
In 1993, Peter joined forces with Christopher Needham to form WFT, a Specialist Marine and Energy M.G.A. Christopher Needham worked in Lloyds for more than 40 years and formed strong, long term relationships with many producers and underwriters in this field.
WFT today has grown to seven offices, including Europe and the United States, providing a wealth of experienced Underwriting personnel, and the finest products of this type in the Market. They have become the manager of one of the largest portfolios of this specialist line of business. WFT represents US Domestic Insurance Carriers and is a fully tribunalized MGA for Lloyds of London. The first decade has seen remarkable growth and with our partners continued support we expect to continue our expansion and remain the number on MGA in this class.
