The British-American Business Council of North Carolina invites members to a reception to bid farewell to the winners of the 2009 British Studies Summer Program, Erika Lower and Morgan Wynn.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Parking passes will be provided
  • RSVP required. Please provide full name and date of birth at least 2 days prior to the event
  • Pick up your Visitor Pass at the Information Desk in the Ticketing Lobby.
  • Reception will be the "Piedmont Conference Room" above the Food Court
  • Allow an additional 15+ minutes time for parking/picking up your Visitor Pass and clearing security checkpoints

The British American Business Council is pleased to announce the winners of the BABC-NC Scholarship for the British Studies Summer Program are Erika Lower and Morgan Wynn.

Every year, BABC NC provides scholarships for two Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) students to attend a two-week travel and study program in the United Kingdom. The program is conducted by the American Community Schools in London and is entitled The British Studies Summer Program (BSSP). Each year the students are chosen via an essay contest conducted by the British American Business Council of North Carolina in conjunction with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools System.

This is the sixth year the BABC, Charlotte has provided two scholarships worth $4500 each to Charlotte Mecklenburg School Juniors to attend a two week travel and study program in Britain, intended to give meaning to the enduring impact of British History and Culture. The selected students will join 14 other students, all sponsored by various BABC Chapters throughout the United States.

The program - entitled British Studies Summer Program (BSSP) - is conducted by the American Community Schools (ACS) in England, at the Cobham campus outside London. The two- week BSSP program is from June 26-July 11, 2009.
